I guess if you surrender your intelligence for the sake of being proper Hindu, as somebody above proclaimed, those statements probably stand on some disillusioned ground of reasoning.

Case in point, this whole duration thingie.  432,000 years per yug.  If we are to assume Kaliyug started some 5000 years ago, we still have 427,000 years more to go before this yug ends.  Now assuming all four yugs are of same duration, most of Dwaparyug (yug prior to Kali) was dominated Neanderthals.  Treta-yug (prior to Dwapar), we were apes about to climb down from the trees.  Satya-yug (prior to Treta), we were pre-apes about to climb up to the trees.  Makes sense?

What do you guys think?  Can someone with Vedic knowledge elucidate me?
