syd_acid, after knowing that your bhinaju will be the only one from your family applying for the visa, I think he has a decent chance of getting the visa if he keeps things simple. By that I mean that, if he doesn't focus too much on his stellar academic and professional work and just simply tells the counselor that since you really want to share your happiness with at least one person from your family and he is the only one who can attend it, he wants to get the visa to be able to share your happiness during the graduation.
