Whenever there is financial instability or depression movies sell out more. Its the same everywhere in the world. In US, when it was going through depression, that was the time movies were sold the most.
And, although movies make money, it is an art form. Making a movie is not a joke. And if anyone makes money out of it then why should it be a fuss.
