I am also thinking about the NIW E2. I do not think, they discriminate according to your status. As you are working as pos doc. it will be perfect for you to do NIW. 

 In my case, I just have master degree.... 1 patent..... 2 internal author book chapter....2 first author journal paper.....5 internal author journal paper....5 conference poster presentation. I am working on school lab so my salary is from NIH grant. However, these paper are from this year... i do not have any citation on my paper yet

 What do u suggest, should I go for it?

if incase, it get rejected.... r we not allowded to stay in US
