I guess this 'feudal' concept called seniority has tremendous implications in our society. People should come out of this idea of senority and sacrifice. I'd not hate any of the gen-2 guys coming to the top but do fear this would  just mean Sitaram Kesarification of NC leadership leading to a takeover by the family daughter. So, need to establish performance and calibre as the criteria. You don't have to go to gen-n right away as well, there may well be capable ones in the middle. But things should be transparent and promising.

If our politics is filled with all incapable people, then it is also the failure of those who are supposed to be able and 'deserving'. No one in politics will think s/he does not deserve to be there unless knocked out by someone more capable. So lets wait for the knockouts.
