Its nonsense.Go for it I'm travelling via Delhi for last 5 years every year without any hassle.In my experience not in Delhi its in Kathmandu you will face problem if you travel via middle east ,because in Kathmandu they ask so many questions about green card if you say you work in US Sram mantralayako sifaris etc.But via Delhi just check in through in Kthmandu though you have to recognise your baggage at Delhi in transit airlines official comes to you to recognise after that he/she will give you boarding pass in transit.After checking in downstair at Kathmandu just tell them at the immigration counter upstair at Kathmandu immigration you are going to Delhi as same way at arrival just tell them coming from Delhi at Nepalese Immigration counter.
