there is a difference between Culture and Ritual...what is displayed above is a ritual. Culture is more like a way of life in general. This is not something they do on a daily basis but has a symbolic meaning to attain the greater good..for eg celebration, making the gods happy what not....

What is labled as weirdness can be a source of satisfaction, fun and may be a percieved duty of that person to belong to that culture. This is a common human sentiment as i believe the originator of this thread might agree
