Your saying that Newars were oppressed??? You are kidding bro-they are the most privileged group. Madhesi were not also not oppressed-as far as "opportunities" are concerend-yeah they were humiliated, and mostly by Newars, not by the other castes-Bramins (current culprits) have been living in Terai since ages.. Newars discover the word " marsya". Amongst the newars-Newar themselves oppressed the other castes of newars like ( Sahi-nyah:, Napit: Nau:, Kapali: Joghi, Karanjit: Bhangra, Ranjitkar : Chipa, and lists goes on-pode, chyamkhla, kau and so on). Now do not tell me this started after PN Shan united Nepal. J S MALLA (Newar King) was the one who started. And amongst Newars itself-Buddhists newars are more " SAMPRADAIK" than HINDU-Do you think Buddhist Newars/Buddhism were also oppressed? Bajracharya was oppressed by Shrestha or so on?? ha ha If you compare the socio-economic status amongst the newars-Buddhist Newars falls under well to do communities than others.( EG.Bareh:-Bajracharya-Sakya, Dhakwa, Udyah-Tuladhar, Kansakar, Sthapit)-Will anyone stop this " Oppressed" theroy to justfy current division??

Madeshi falls under same situation as of the newars- as they also have vast diversity and cast divisions from Chaudhary/Rajput/Kayastha to Chamar.


Yeah one point you are right-we can not blame anyone but ourselves - but those who just want to capitalize ethnic mind set to score the political points ( like Maoists) and those who does not have the capacity to rise above their ethnic/religious ( like padma ratna/malla k sundar) mentality are the real culprit! Hang them we will be fine. And Bro your comparison of Nepal with Scotland -Great Britain -check the literacy level of those countries-let alone the other factors.
