If God (Hindu or whatever) didn't want us to eat beef, he would've made cows run faster. :D If I go to Chipotle, the best they have there is steak burrito. McD is famous for its Big Mac. You are definitely missing something in America, if you don't eat beef.
Having said that, I think religion is nonsense and it does not make you any "pure" cause you don't eat beef. If you really enjoy the texture/flavor of beef without having all that remorse, guilt, penace blah blah blah....for eating it, then go for it. Burp on Chitragupta's face on the judgment day (if this effing thing exists). [I was born hindu, but I consider my self an atheist.]
