xgaffadi,
I guess you are just entering EE major(it just my guess). Dont hurry. Just do some more research on what will attract you. And at the beginning you might have to take some classes on analog circuits, digital system designs, semiconductor, microelectronics, signal and systems .... after that you might know what is interesting to you. So, do some research. I would say bioelectical is the hottest jobs these days.

Newlynew, nice to hear that your are an EE, me too. And you know what, my 6 best friends are also EE, and we all are doing great in this field. We dont regret being EE. I have one more year to finish. 3 of my friends are working in a company, they were specialized in signals and  RF, 2 of my friends are doing Master's and one of them is working in a biomedical company. They all finished school in last 2 years. I dont know why you are depressed but make some hope man, this field is not as bad as you think. This field has lots of opportunity. May be its true that Master's EE degree has more chances than Undergrads. And, for sure, to find an EE job is not as easy as finding computer programming job.

xgaffadi, dont be discouraged man. if you are really thinking going to EE, go ahead. But make sure to build your resume before you get out of your school. I recommend to find a RA job in the school or internship in summer. I guess you are working out of school and trying to collect big a** international tuition. This is hard man. So, find a school where you can have less stress with money, so that you will be ok even if you dont go to ocean city in summer. May be you will be in some thousand dollars in debt when you get out of the school .... but try to find jobs that will build your resume than your money. and i will suggest microelectronic (bioelctrical focused)  career. (for signals most of the company will look for citizenship since its a sensitive, but still you can find jobs ) ....good luck
