1.Call ATT with other GSM phone and tell them cancel the iphone data plan.(if you don't have GSM phone you can get Go Phone from ATT, return within 30 days)-with same SIM CARD!!

2. Jail Break it. 

3. Disable EDGE/DATA service (FAKE APN) http://www.ehphone.ca/2008/07/how-to-disable-data-on-your-iphone-or-iphone-3g/ [this step so you won't misuse the DATA service, without a dataplan]

I called em like 3 or 4 times with different excuses but it didn't worked at all. at the end,what they told me is i need to have different phone to cancel data n i can't use iphone if i dont have data plan so i called em with different phone n cancel it,and after a month i m using Iphone again n its great than ever :)
