I'm not trying to disrespect anybody. I'm just emphasizing that the problem doesn't end with getting GC or Citizenship. Getting high paying job is the main thing to keep up with your family needs here and back home. Of course, you have to study and work hard for that. If you think, you are not that good academically, try to work hard and open your own business after saving some money and loans from the banks (no doubt lots of banks in US including giants like Bank of America has stopped approving loans for small businesses)..Its easy to write, but hard to accomplish..just my thought..
