Nice article. But khas is not an Aryan race. In Mahabharat, in Ashwamegh parba it is mentioned that Bhimsen won the mlechha countries like shaka, huna, yawan and khasa. So basically during mahabhart time khas were not hindu, they practiced their own tribal religion part of which can still be seen practiced  in Western Nepal.
