Not trying to give any false info , this what I heard from my friend.
While you go to Nepal from Delhi, you will show the Nepali Passport, you are through.
Flying back you will check your baggage up to Delhi and from Delhi, you will fly with US passport. If you have to take visa to Delhi, you should do it.
