You can do Volunteer without pay in your field of Study and it will be Counted as a Job..That will maintain Status during Your 12 month OPT.
"In essence what i am trying to say is, even if i DON'T GET A JOB during the OPT period is there any way around to maintain my OPT status. "
If u don't have a Job , You won't have Status..
