I agree with mucho_fiesta....

However, I guess one will get used to the load shedding and shortage of water ...Whenever I have gone home over the summer vaccation it was hard for me to adjust for first few days but later on I just got used to load shedding and water shortage co;z I have lived in that same environment for so many years before I came here ...However the major problem is instability and insecurity...it is hard to live with a constant fear of Nepal bandha and so on...

I think if you do your masters and go back then you will have a better chance of getting a job back home. But I must say you have to have connections otherwise it is hard to find a job

I disagree that there is no career as an immigrant here in US because there are so many people who have good career and are doing extremely well. It depends on your education level or work experience or both. If you work hard nothing can stop you here..

But my only concern is even if we do welll in terms of our career and we earn lot of money..will we be happy here? Is that all we want from our life...money cannot buy all the happiness atleast that;s what I believe and that;s what I follow...I think true happiness comes from being together with your family and friends.

I also disagree that education system in Nepal is better than US. Yes in Nepal professors do most of the work but it does not benefit students in terms of learning. In Nepal we have a passive learning environment which does not help students in the long run. In US it is more practical and students do most of the work and also they learn much more by doing all the work. I strongly believe that the education system of Nepal should be reformed. Anyways this thread is not for this topic so may be we can discuss how we can reform education system in a different thread.

Sorry for writing too much!!! I hope everyone does what makes them happy!!!
