I just had a chat with one of my university professor and he said that his experiment is fundamentally flawed essentially missing out 3 forces .  I don't know why our newspaper is publishing such rubbish and arn't there any physics genius in Nepal who can guide this guy.

1. To determine Archimides principle they fill the liquid upto top level. So when any object is immersed the liquid displaced in by the object is collected in another jar.

However, in his experiment liquid is not only  being diplaced but it is also raised in height (in between the cups).Clearly lower glass is not fully filled but only filled upto 25 grams. So energy is lost in raising the height of liquid.  Raising the height is determined by the potential energy.  energy is lost in raising the height of liquid  like in barometer.  Infact the loss of is very significant.  Imagine when you put your thumb on the tap and feel the force of water.

2. In archimedes principle the container is very big compared to the object immersed. Just like the ship in the sea. By using both the container of almost same width other factors become significant. Like the liquid in between two glass has the cohesive forces . Imagine putting liquid in a ballon and try pressing it.  This force is neglible in the ship sailing in the sea.

3. When both the cups are of same size chances are the cups might be touching each other at some point.. Weight of liquid is also shared by the cups.

4.   If you immerse 100 gm it does not necessarily mean 100 gm displace. Archimides principle says when you put 100 gm object  there will be an apparent loss in weight of  the object you immerse. That apparent loss of weight is equal to volume of water displaced.
