Guchcha Chor I don’t know if this will be helping you genuinely but sure thought it's worth try. Recently at an annual cross cultural mental health conference I asked a very insightful, inspiring, and intellect physician Dr. Gabor Mate:
Q. In Buddhism the monks have mentioned "What gives you pleasure also gives you pain?"
A. Pleasure does not give pain but wanting to hold on to pleasure gives pain.
He further added that all psychological problems are lead by the ego.
The ego questions the existence with dysfunctional present.
Ego develops a mechanism to cover the loss of attachment during the childhood resulting in JUDGEMENT, projection, and defence.
Ego is desperate not to make us vulnerable as a result we live in stressful environment needing to constantly please ourselves.
The recovery is in recognizing
Present v Pursuit
Being v Having
Attachment v Detachment
Peace v Happiness
Here I am not explaining in detail, and am leaving the statements which may appear to be vague. The reason I present is for further self reflection and realization in an individual basis.
Hope this help you
