Cute little anecdote, my mouth started watering from your description. I have yet to try out the kinema, and I heard it smells like dirty socks, but I have heard good things about it from the people who have already acquired it's taste. Sorry for your loss, my maiju is an amazing cook as well, and I always loved to watch her cook, whenever i was at their house.
