KATHMANDU, July 17: Many colleges have come forward to help School Leaving Certificate (SLC) graduates from Samata Shiksha Niketan pursue higher studies. The five students with poor family backgrounds got distinction in SLC from the school and were sweating over ways to finance their further studies. But after reports in the media, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal himself took initiative to make arrangements for Bhawana Tamang, who wants to become pediatrician, at Xavier International College. Many more colleges came forward for her help, but she has made her mind to choose Trinity College. Nobel Academy has decided to take charge of Bikash Waiba who wants to become a chartered accountant. Likewise, Kamala Dhungel, a Janakpur resident currently residing in Kathmandu, has said she will arrange funds for the studies of Pramila Tamang. Dhungel, a social worker, visited Samata School on Thursday and pledged support. Tamang wants to pursue staff nurse courses. Similarly, the International School of Tourism and Hotel Management has shown interest to take in Raju Yonjan, who wants to become a hotel manager, under its wing in response to the news title “One hits limelight, rest in limbo” published in myrepublica.com Thursday. Ramesh Bhujel, who wants to become a computer engineer, is also in talks with Jaya Devkota School for his higher secondary studies. |
