In case of a lost SS card, you can receive not more 3 cards a year and 10 in lifetime. This is validated information. You have to visit nearest social security office with all your credentials (such as I-20s if any, passport, birth certificates, driver's license et al, if you are an international student request your school for a draft that verifies your enrollment). Granting a new social security card based on documentation you furnish is entirely subjective. But if you are able to furnish at least those in the parentheses, you should be able to get a new social security card. Remember, social security number never changes, you will just get a new card with same number in it.
