Syanjali

They are right in saying that Help Nepal is a very democratic organization as we do not hold any elections for the its positions.

Mainly because we wanted to maintain its "apolitical" nature. We are not scared of loosing the position. I can forward emails where I have requested my position to be taken over for it consumed lots of my personal time and also getting costly. Will I hold the position for ever? Probably not !!

But, we are not that closed either !! We have worked with various organizations and individuals (like Shailesh Munankarmi for e-library project and he was a total stranger)and have had success of various degree.

We have not invited the many people, but if they come - we do not deny provided that they are "apolitical".

Its hard to compare GBNC with Help Nepal. Its sad to say and probably you have experienced your self that people do tend to spend on entertainments and do not mind spending on food and drinks - but when it comes to donation, the story is totally different.

Those who told you that it is a closed organization, I challenge to them if they have approached Help Nepal directly according to its norms ? Yes we have denied raising funds if it involved any political or religious motives.

So Syanjali, where ever you are, who ever you are - You seem to be a logical person (with respect to your post), I do invite you to start a chapter for Help Nepal in your area and contribute to our beloved Nepal. Unlike your belief, we are always looking for new chapters (some times we have slacked though because of family, perosonal and professional responibilities).
