There are a few points on the phone call that people like Dance may want to know about that will give some insight as to why we found him guilty..

There were actually 2 phone calls that we heard.  the first one was between the victim and Ajay's wife.  That call is the victim trying to talk to her "daddy" and the mother refusing to allow her to speak to him.  The victim mentions that if he will not speak to her, that she will be forced to talk to the police about something but refuses to tell the mother what it is about..

The next call is between the victim and Ajay. By this time he should already know there is something that she wants to go the police about.  We assumed his wife had talked to him about the first call.  It starts out with the victim telling him that she went to the school counselor and they began talking about her sex life and the abortions.  The victim asks Ajay if she should tell the counselor about their relationship "should I tell the counselor about you and me daddy?".  Not once does he ask "what relationship" or "what are you talking about", the only thing he wants to know is why she went to the counselor and whos phone she is using to call him. 

He flips back and forth from English to Nepali during this 45 minute conversation.  During the parts in Nepali, he is telling her to keep quiet and not go to the police, not to talk on the phone about "these" things, and to forget about things that happened when she was 15.  When he is speaking English, it is all about "this is the worst accusation that you could make" and telling her to go to the police right away and that he would defend himself.  It appears that his wife is near him when he is speaking English becasue the entire tone changes.  At one point the victim asks him if mom is in the room and asks if that is why he is speaking English all of a sudden...

She attempts several times to get off the phone but he does not want her to hang up.  Yes, several times he completely denies anything but only when he is speaking English.  He tries to keep her on the phone and continues the English/Nepali bantor.  Finally, the ultimate comment of "you fu*&ed me after the age of 18, that means you gave consent". 

I hope this helps to shed some light and helps people realize that he is guilty and he is right where he needs to be....
