I think we are wrong to think that american 'sanskar' is swarthi....If deeply analysed there are thousands of such elderly people who are houseless in nepal, thank god to the american culture that at least they are allowed to work and they fnd work here to sustain. Elederly people being seen working at walmart doesn't necessarily mean that their family dont love them or dont give them food to eat, may be she wanted to surprise her daughhter or grandson with a gift and she took that shift. Its just independence, she might be enjoying her freedom and independence.
