I have heard that Newah Organization of America (http://www.newah.org/) has donated $2000.00 for establishing the Nepal Bhasa Academy some years ago. Donation from outside could be gesture of support but it would not be enough to sustain and maintain such historical treasures unless Nepal Government and Kathmandu Mahanagarpalica do not take care of  them. It is their full-responsibility to preserve historic treasures and culture, and bring such issues into greater public attention through appropriate awareness programs. The (local and national) governing bodies are not for just collecting tax and doing dirty politics.
