Dear friends and well wishers of ANA,
Namaste.
My name is Ajay Dev and I am writing this email seeking your support for my candidacy for Treasurer and Simon Dhungana for President of ANA.
I have been in U.S. since 1980 and am married with Peggy who is my backbone for everything in life. We are blessed with our son Kishan, who is now 15 months old. I have a BS Degree in Civil Engineering and MS Degree in Environmental Engineering from the California State University, Chico. For the past 13 years, I have been working as a licensed engineer for the State of California, Department of Water Resources (DWR) in Sacramento, CA.
To be able to serve for the community gives me great gratification especially when I can make a direct positive impact in a person’s life. My community service includes:
- Executive Committee and a Co-Convener for the ANA 2009 Convention
- Board of Director member of Nepalis and Friends Cultural Association (NAFCA)
- Global Advisory Board Coordinator for Nepalis Association for Global Corporation (NAGC)
Through service, reaching out to many different communities has given me broader understanding, appreciation and respect of the cultural diversity of Nepal and Nepali Americans. The Nepalis in America have our hearts in two places, here with our country the United States and with Nepal, our motherland. I believe a peaceful and harmonious Nepal is a place for hopes and dreams of various backgrounds and ethnicity.
As a Treasurer of the ANA I promise to transparently:
- Act as a custodian of all funds, and fiscal files of the Association
- Receive all funds paid to the Association and keep the books straight
- Maintain appropriate, accurate and current financial records
- Report them quarterly to be published on the web for all members to see
- Keep financial health of the Association sound, and
- Be open to your suggestions and ideas
Simon Dhungana for ANA President
I, an executive member of ANA, fully support nomination Simon Dhungana for the ANA President. I came to know Simon Dhungana as a Convention Chair of the ANA 2009. In leading such a large endeavor I have seen firsthand his true leadership and how that has proved to be effective in crucial junctures. From many meetings I have been part of with him, he has demonstrated that he takes responsibility seriously, that he is efficient, confident, and productive with a team player attitude. With his proven track record I look forward to serving the Nepali community with him leading the ANA team.
Sincerely,
Ajay Dev
