Despite disapproval from senior leaders, party President Girija Prasad Koirala picked the names under the leadership of his daughter Sujata.

On the other hand, NC spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC claimed that “no organisational decision has been made on the name-list” and nor had any party bodies given the responsibility to Koirala.

Stating Koirala decided the name-list unilaterally, KC informed the issue will be discussed in the Central Committee (CC).

The NC has submitted the names of Minendra Rijal, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Balkrishna Khand, Umakant Chaudhary and Purna Kumar Sharma to the government.

Prior to submitting the name-list, NC President Koirala conferred with the central leaders close with him at his residence in Maharajgunj this morning.

He announced that he will not change his decision regarding Sujata’s leadership, at the meeting.

It is pointless to debate on the issue as the CC asked him to prepare the name-list, he added.
