Studying for CPA isn't as tough ONLY if you prepare well and devote ENOUGH TIME. And go with Becker material for preparation. It is expensive compared to other brands out there but its worth every penny.
Then you apply with NASBA at www.nasba.org for the exam. They will evaluate your transcripts based on the requirements of your state, then they will approve you to sit for the exams. The second step is to register for each exam for whatever exam window you prefer and go for it. The average preparation time for each exam should be 6 to 8 weeks from my personal experience.
I suggest you to start preparing and taking some of the exams while you are in school. Once you start working, you will find it hard to devote time for preparation.
