 Govt Orders Seizure of willful defaulters' passports
 

 

KATHMANDU, March 5: The Home Ministry has ordered District Administration Offices in 26 districts to seize passports of 376 blacklisted willful defaulters, according to Naya Patrika.


The offices have been ordered not to issue new passports and not to renew existing ones to the blacklisted defaulters -- people who have taken loans from financial institutions and are intentionally not paying back the loans.


Following the government order the District Administration Offices have written to police in the district to seize the passports. The police have been provided willful defaulters’ details including permanent address.


The defaulters include noted businessmen, relatives of top politicians and former royal relatives. Some of the names in the blacklist are Brij Gopal Inani, Renu Kumari Mittal, Bishnu Kumari Mittal, Babita Mittal, Rajendra Kumar Agrawal, Surendra Kumar Sarraf, Mohan Bahadur Shahi, Gopal Bahadur Shahi, Prakash Bahadur Shahi, Arun Chand, Bijaya Kumar Goyal, Sushila Rana, Harka Bahadur Chand, Rajendra Bahadur Chand, Ganesh Datta Bhatta, Arun Malla, Ashok Kumar Subba, Kamala Subba, Ganga Lingden, Tej Prakash Shah, Danab Subba, Piyush Bahadur Amatya, Ganga Amatya, Binod Bahadur Amatya, Sanju Amatya, Daman Bahadur Amatya, Krishna Bahadur Amatya, Birendra Kumar Kanaudiya and Diwakar Chand, Rajani Chand.


Some other names are Kishor Kumar Khanal, Sawarmal Agrawal, Jamim Shah, Bahadur Krishna Tamrakar, Niraj Churana, Pragyan Shuhsher JB Rana, Shiddika Rana, Shivendra Bahadur Basnet, Hari Prasad Dhanal, Manju Devi Dhanal, Kishan Devi Dhanal and Mohan Agrawal.
