I agree with what he said.  It's a form of art. Don't write off all of hip hop because you've only listened to ones with poor messages.  It was your choice to listen to that message.  Instead, listen to a rap album with a constructive message (there are many that do exist).  These artists do not get the due recognition because you only focus on those that you find offensive. Choose love not hate and you will be happier for it.  It's like saying Picasso should have stopped paining forever after Les Demoiselles d'Avignon was poorly received by critics who though it was too vulgar when in fact it changed the course of art forever. Same thing with Elvis and his hip-shakin which was thought to be too sexual in nature. All forms of art. Don't shoot the messenger. Ya Dig?
