Dear Amish Poudelji,

It is always a pleasure to read your comments and questions. This time too you have raised a very serious, genuinely concerning issue. It is true that many bright, smart students like you sacrificed your school/ college years to participate in the glorious PW. Even truer is the fact that without this sacrifice, we would not have achieved what we have in hand today, nor would we have the courage and confidence to proceed ahead. I am very touched by what you said about not regretting the choices made in the past, but that you are concerned about your future. Firstly, I think you should keep in mind that formal education doesn't solely define who you are and what you are capable of. What you have learned and did throughout these years is far more rich and priceless than what formal education would have given you. What you did and are doing are of historical, epochal significance. In every society's revolutionary transition one generation sacrifices its 'normal' necessities and luxuries of life. This may not seem very apparent right now but the future generation will judge the immense significance of the sacrifices made. Nevertheless, I am also aware of what you mean by saying 'a well educated person is freer to speak his voice…sometimes, due to lack of this basic foundation of life [education], I cannot dare to air the true voice of my own'. I fully understand…such is our society and such are the standards of status that are created. We have to change this. Simultaneously, we have to ensure that our cadres don't feel humiliated, lost or abandoned. That is why one of the measures we will take is to introduce Open University that will give formal status to the exclusive education you received in this historical process. I am very thankful that you have aired your voice openly. Please feel free to suggest further steps that the Party should take in this regard. I am proud that we have cadres like you. I will be happy to give you guidance for your studies in political economy.
