Nobody is asking you to pelt
stone or fight, healthy discussion is always good. Let me add something more
about Buddha birthplace,
After the birth Buddha the infant was cleaned in nearby pond in Kapilvastu,
Buddha was put on the foot stone of the walk way of that pond, since Buddha
was a special child indicated by the circumstances of his birth as
written in Buddhist book. ppl paid special attention to that stone. When king
Ashok visited the place ppl told him that Buddha first put his feet on that stone
so the King Ashok also paid worship (?) to that stone. It is written in
the History. In order to settle the debate where Buddha was born Nepal govt
requested UNESCO to find some scientific evidence, UNESCO ppl went through the
history and try to locate the stone in order to perform some scientific analysis
When the Archeologist excavate the pond the stone was there and they wanted to
make sure that it is the same stone as mentioned in the history so UNESCO
scientist did carbon dating analysis of the stone and guess what?? The stone
was found to be from Buddha’s time, UNESCO said it. UNESCO also did excavating
of Maya devi temple (the spot where Buddha was thought to be born) and did
carbon dating analysis, they found that it matches the Buddha’s time and
resembles the stone at the pond. Scientists from
were also involved in the UNESCO team because they really wanted to find the
real birth place. Finallly UNESCO was satisfied
Now regarding the Indian site, Buddha’s mamaghar lies in present day
Budhha also spent some time there after being Budhha. These two were neighboring Kingdoms so they
had similar way of Houses/Ponds, like you can fined in Ktm, Patan and
Bhaktapur they all have mostly similar temple, places etc etc, so this thing
played a trick to give a false believe, and also Indians bureaucrats are more
nationalists then Nepali Bureaucrats the archeologists who did excavation on Indian
site may have been influenced by Nationalist thoughts rather than
professionalism. I got this impression from an Indian guy who worked in central
govt. He was asking me that why
worship Indian language speaking god? At first I thought he was joking and I
just laughed off, but he repeated that question and he seems to be very
serious. He was around 40 yrs old and had a degree in engineering so this type
of mentality may have played in saying Buddha was born in
Another is tourist dollar in early 60s,
was a close economy they were dying for dollar because of their war with pak
and
needed dollar to keep their economy floating so this situation may have
triggered to claim the Buddha was born in
so that they can attract lots of dollar tourists.
means that those places bear the mark form Buddha’s birth time, you can
duplicate but those duplication lacks the marking of time, and also I have
heard that to cheat here too, Indians are trying to steal some of the artifacts
from Kapilvastu may be true or may not be but who knows.
