Work Location: Washington, DC US
Job Length: 6 Months (With good posibility of extension)
Job Description:
Account is seeking a developer to produce imaging software in conjunction with the client's new Vista rollout. The need is for a professional C# developer with skills in developing COM and ActiveX. Professionals with a minimum of 2 years C# and .NET development experience, and 5 years of experience in related field, specifically in Windows development area are required. Special focus would be on development of imaging software. (The original code was written long ago and does not work in the current Vista desktop without lowering the security settings under Vista. They explored solutions with Microsoft but their best solution now is to rewrite the code with newer technology since they've have not been able to find an off-the-shelf product that will fit into applications.)
Responsibilities:
The developer is expected to work independently on the assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
The developer should have the following skills
* BS or graduate degree in computer science/engineering with proven experience directly related to computer systems, software development, testing, integration, and deployment.
* In-depth knowledge of C# and Visual Basic for Windows Vista and XP.
* Software development experience on Microsoft Windows XP/Vista.
* Software development experience with developing COM and ActiveX objects.
* Experience with Web based application development techniques, and tools. Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
* Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to work in a group and deal effectively with staff and clients of varying levels of technical expertise.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Deliverables:
We anticipate that the developer will:
* Design, develop, test and implement a Vista .NET application that integrates third-party/OEM scanning features and modules into a desktop Imaging Toolkit application that will interface with Web applications and Lotus Notes.
* Develop and document system specifications, design and implementation documents and other documentation of work on the project.
