About two weeks ago, a friend of mine visited Nepal. He was carrying a laptop and a camcorder, 4-5 wrist watches, and a few new cloths in his backpack. He said they did not even want to check his back. I think you will be safe if you furnice the answer like that those stuff were for your personal use (remove the price tag before packing them) and you will be taking them back (keep the round-trip (e)ticket handy and produce it if required) in the case they want to inspect your bag.
