Lets bring back the lost writers

As Isolated Freak’s message gives a glimpse, the old “good” writers have moved on with their new priorities and niche. We probably can not bring at least most of them back.

However, we can certainly strive to bring back the old vibrancy and atmosphere by creating an atmosphere that encourages new “good” writers.

From my observation, the most important component of that encouragement is simply preventing them from being discouraged.

Many posters have pointed to the profanity and abuses that exist in Sajha as possible discouragement. However, I think the real (decisive one) discouragement is the lack of a critical mass of “good” writers/commentators.

“Good” writers can ignore (or learn to ignore) abuses if there exists other stronger incentives. But they can in no way ignore the lack of quality comments and responses.

So, I think once you somehow have a critical mass of “good” writers/commentators, you are good to go and sustain.

How to get that critical mass ?

That is a million dollar question. I wish I had the answer.
