Though we consider ourself liberal and are educated in USA, i still think it is lot easier and better to marry or date a guy/girl from same country.  It makes life lot easier, both can understand each other much better.  I think many are doing so.  many americans marry americans, many nepali do the same and so does the others.

remember, we all had dreams before coming to usa.  most of us wanted to have good education, life and so on.  i dont think we came here just to get laid or something.  we had much better things in mind before coming here.  some stick with it, stay focus and do well and some just flow in this new culture.  american culture has lot good things to offer also, such as hardworking, respect for jobs and so on.  life here teaches us so many things, which i like about usa.  i feel i am much more confident person that i was back home and i am sure many of us agree on this. 

i am sure many of us know what is right and wrong thing to do and also know if we are doing right thing or wrong thing. attitude like " who cares, free society and free country " does nt work well all the time.  though america is a free country, it has rules and everybody has to follow the rules set in this country. free country does nt mean you can do whatever you want to, right?   similarly, every culture has some rules/faith and they follow it.  we all are smart enough to know what is right or wrong.  though we can not generalize people, but we shoudl be able to know how things works in nepal, usa, pakistan , or any other country for that matter.  generally person coming from a certain society tend to have similar values like others. 

if we just believe in some nice words said by others and ready to give so many things for that person without knowing or spending good amount of time, then god save them.  it does hurt when someone from different country talks bad about our country, culture and people.   i did have some heated conversation with indian guys on some issues.  sometimes its really difficult to tolerate things.  alright guys, happy dashain.
