DR, I don't understand your logic that finds the maoists as the 'only' nationalist force and all others as corrupt anti-national craps. I don't think that Prachanda ko khubi le hatya himsa banda bhayo.. the truth is that Prachanda had started all this nonsense... Anyway, he showed some flexibility in the last couple of years and now time has given him a chance, he should now prove what  he is really up to.

It's easy to make cries about mistakes by earlier politicians.. but probably very difficult to be in power without making some 'mistakes' in favour of the 'big brother'. Sooner or later Prachanda may also make one - after all he has come to the forefront with the help of the Indians, and they'll expect things in return... Though Gujaral is a no-man in Indian politics now, his absurd praise for prachanda (apparently for saving the country from split -- don't know how??) along with the example of Bhutan making progress in development with the Indian help indicates the direction they want prachanda to follow. Obvisously it'll be difficult for him as the chief executive of the country to balance national and foreign aspirations, and a failure to remain diplomatically balanced may make him end up as BP in 1960s or Birendra in the early 2000s.
