But Kamal means lotus init? Lotus, a beautiful flower, that grows in the most unfavourable environment and surroundings ... Tara, if we look at this character, "Kamal," and think along the same line as the flower "Kamal-Lotus," it gives negative connotation again to Chameli's environment and lifestyle and many more Chamelis' like her ... In my perspective, Chameli is the real, 'Lotus,' - a fighter, whio is struggling and trying her best to live her life amidst all the negativities surrounding her ...

Almost like the Hindi movie Umrao Jaan, : ) - the idea, but I'm glad you've taken it upon yourself as a writer to feel her pain, desires, losses ... her reality ... and then convey it to your readers, as she and many like her live every day of their lives.
