Geology Tiger: I read that report.  What caught my eye was the Bibligraphy - the list of sources for this report.  One of the sources was:

Chinese Petroleum Investigation Team (CPIT). 1973 Report on the investigation of petroleum geology in the Kingdom of Nepal: Chinese Pctrolem Corporation. Peking. CHN. 75 Subfile B. 760583. 75~26354

So Chinese were already looking for Petroleum in Nepal in early 70s????

I will be more interested in reading that paper.  Why they kept quiet after finishing their investigation in Nepal in 1970s?
