I think it depends on your own priority. How soon you want to graduate from the university and sell urself in job market rather than taking one step break. I am trying my best to feel the level of ur dilemma but to be honest associate degree will not take you anywhere and dont even consider it as an achievement looking at the job market and terrible US economy.

If you want to relax and take few deep breath thinking you have crossed a big hurdle with this associate degree.. then it will further lengthen the period before you achieve your final goals..
