yes, I agree that Country of Birth in the passport easily establishes that you are an NRN. Agreed.

But, looks like some are still holding Nepalese passports.. and if so, when such person send his US passport to Nepalese Embassy in Washington, would not they be asking to return the nepali passport, I assume they have record of passports they issued.

In the other issue, why to spend money for courier to send the US passport to Washington DC for 30 day free visa while you could spend cheap $30 at TIA to get the 60 day visa. Also, if you really don't wanna lose your Nepali passport, I bet you would go for 30day free visa by sending your passport to Washington.

Regarding Extended visa... $100.. yes, it's cheap.. one might really go for that path if one really needs to go to Nepal for almost a year... and such person may not even mind losing existing Nepali passport.
