puzzeled life, as Houston TX has said earlier, there could be many reasons for that specific problem. I also recommend Firefox 3, but if you are a die hard fan of IE and want it to be fixed do the following...
* Scan for virus, spyware etc.with antivirus/antispyware software. Scan with many, as many as you can get.
If problem still exists
* Remove IE completely and re-install.
If problem still there
* Run Windows repair, that will re-install windows system files. I am assuming Vista also got that facility. I am still with XP so I don't know.
If still have problem
* Re-install OS, in your case Vista.
