Himalayan News Service |
Kathmandu, May 19: Maoist victim’s son’s speech leaves gathering moist-eyed. People burst into tears when 11-year-old Raman Shrestha, son of businessman Ramhari Shrestha, who was killed by Maoists, delivered a speech at a programme organised in Ratnapark today. Raman said, “I didn’t weep when I heard about my father’s death. My mother and sister wept, but I did not. I tried to convince them that weeping will not bring my father back. “I know I am not the only one to lose father at a young age. Hundreds have lost their parents at the hands of the Maoists.†Raman said he was shocked to hear Prachanda telling them to stop seeking the reason behind the killing just because the latter was ready to pay compensation. “I want to ask Prachanda: Does compensation bring my father back?†he said, adding that he wanted to take “a similar revenge on Prachanda if paying compensation is enough.†|
