“Inclusion” of the traditionally marginalized groups was the primary purpose of this election. And Maoists have done the best job.

However, I agree that the “inclusion” through political parties (with the included members’ LOYALTY residing in the PARTY rather than in the GROUP the member belongs to) is not a perfect inclusion. But with the political compromise made, that’s the best we could get at this time.

It could certainly have been otherwise and better if other political parties have agreed to what Maoist have proposed once.

Maoists have actually proposed to make separate constituencies (independent of political parties) for each traditionally marginalized group. But other political parties refused it for pure fear and greed. NC and UML did not want to see independent women, Madhesi, Janajati and Dalit members in the Assembly. They wanted dependent members.  

So, it is not Maoist but NC and UML who are responsible for this imperfect inclusion.
