Amitabh Bachchan - a Role Model?

Most of the people on Sajha are wasting time in one way or the other. You know it I know it. And still, you  preach do this or do that? Com'on ive me a f'kin' break.

The reason why I had to reprimand the first responder is because he/she used the phrase "non sense things" but never did justify why it was so nonsense after all. Go through all the threads, which one of it will help you pay the bills, solve world problems blah blah blah. The answer is : almost none.

If a thread does not strike a passer-by's fancy then I think the person should be courteous enough to stop by but gently pass; no need to give a negative spin. When anyone of you start a thread won't you be in my state of mind?

Regarding going to get a job, you folks know nothing about me. Did you think that only hard work can make you wealthy? You are dreaming. There are perfectly legal and tax-paying ways to become wealthy without even being a conforming corporate slave in a white-color position. Unfortunately, I am doing it exactly that at the moment. I just happen to have more free time at work these days.

Getting back to the 'pwaint', when only the fanatics of Amitabh take over the thread this is how the dynamics of the thread evolves as you can see. Unlike Hollywood stars like Jolie, Pitt, Brando have/had their conviction on what needs to be changed in the nation/world and used their fame, time and resources to promote those causes., what has Amitabh done so far to promote anything so as to treat him like Godsend. Has he promoted anything in his home country for the betterment of the under-privileged? Hollywood stars like Gere have to fly across the world to preach safe sex to prevent the spread of HIV because locals won't do sh!t.

Bollywood celebrities have a lot of power that they can harness even if it's once a week for solving problems that are plaguing India or the world. They, including Mr Bachchan, still have six other days to make obscene amount of money whether it's my charming you on the  movie screen or by endorsing a sub-par quality brand product. No wonder Amitabh has constant spats with the Thackarays, the Khans, the Gandhis and the likes.

The irony in this 21st century is that billions of people know and worship Amitabh, Shah Rukh is but most even don't even know or realize the contribution made by individuals like Gandhi, Dr. King, Muhammed Yusuf, or Mother Teresa to name a few. Examine the picture above and see for yourself again, how much out of touch Mr Bachchan has become to the perils of the world.

The takeaway is: celebrities can change the world for the better and they are squandering those opportunities that could contribute to their own legacies before they ultimately become mere dust in the wind.
