It's sad but it is also the responsibility of every citizens to inquire beforehand whether their name is in the list or not. I am sure that if they have tried earlier in advance, they might not have faced this situation.

I do not know what kind of political life you will have in city, but in my village, from almost before a month, gauka janne sunne, and politically active people from different parties come in each and every home with voters' list provided to them by their political parties and try to see if all's name is there or not. I can still find some registers having name of voters for 2051 BS Election in my home. So, basically, my view is for a successful election, we need to be a responsible citizen enquiring about the process and procedures well in advance.
I assume that there is no mala fide intention of anyone while deleting Dr. X's name and it must be surely an unintentional mistake.
