Thank you for your explanation at last. I understand your stand,  and also agree to some extent that ones the thread gets sticky on home page there will be less interest among the regular users. However, I still think that making a thread like this sticky provides easy access to people who are considering for donation. They don't have to search over pages to find the thread. And also, of course, making a thread sticky means you are supporting the cause which in turn will generate more interest among both the regular and new users.
