Tax filing has 3 years of time to file. Did you owe any money to Federal and State last year?? The cut off time does not matter, once you sent it proper place and with proper stamps, should had been reached and you would have heard from them either getting refund or pay back if owed.
Check with IRS, if not filed, files again. You must have the copies of the 1040 print. Attach – w-2s and resent it. This time you need to make sure the address is correct and the postage stamp has right amount, I should not be reminding of writing your name and address.
If you are single and last year you had used 1040 EZ, your tax filling is very simple. You can go on line Turbo tax where you can practice without signing a name. But you can find other tax software, free or cheaper than turbo Tax. For state and federal I generally advise Tax Act, simple as turbo but cheaper than turbo tax.
