like someone said, we've now seen the country with and without king.. and the result is just the same. someone also pointed that the mandate of jana-andolon II was restoration of democracy but not secularizing and federating the nation. very true.

ok, when there are only two choices left, as some one mentioned, which i strongly disagree, but if there are only two of the options left, then obviously, we cannot have a communist regime in such a tiny country. ok, so you know my choice.

however, my stance still stays with what i said above. there is no escape from the disintegration of the country and being back to what it was before King Prithvi, if we alienate monarchy. solution very simple: make KG ceremonial, with no power over any administration of the country. just like the shahs during rana period.

branch the government into three, making them separate from each other. although, the parliament system seems to work in nepal, i think the prime minister should be someone who is not in the parliament. i think he should be elected separate (4-5 yrs term) and he will appoint all his ministers and cabinet members, who are not the members of either houses. this way, the cabinet and PM will solely focus on the day to day functioning of the country with none or very least responsibility to the house. this branch will enforce law.

the parliament or houses are responsible to draft and pass the bills. this branch will make law.
and the supreme court will upheld the law per constitution.

i think, all this fight going on is for the control of the parliament. the members of the parliament chooses the prime minister, who commands everything in the country. that's why the parliament is the sole target for all of them to have the control of the parliament, so that, they have the control of the country. let's change that. let the people decide who becomes the prime ministers, just the way they decide who is in the parliament. this way, they can check each other all the time, making sure no one has absolute power.

direct representation of the people is parliament.
direct leader of the people is the prime minister.
the prime minister appoints justices and parliament endorses it.
the king will entertain visiting heads of state. (yes, period).
