There must be some 60 registered psychiatrists in Nepal. Psychotherapy is still a relatively unpractised stuff in Nepal. I guess there might be few qualified psychotherapist but they tend to practice clinical psychiatry( where the money is  ) The patient population is looking for pills to treat their mind and it will take a long while before  they start trusting  the talkin g therapy, whihc in itself is a long tedious process will come into common practice. The problems are less specialised services, complaince issue for the patients, time and money affordability and the social stigma to be exposed long to mental health care exposure etc..The mental health needs are so immense but when it comes to prioritising we are still in the era of treating with pharmacotherapy where the psychiatrist role is primarily sought for. I wish there were programmes promoting talking therapies by psychotherapist.
